If you want to skip the small talk and get the book right now while it’s still just $2.99, you’ll find it here

I’ve always said that every therapist should be developing an email list and communicating regularly with their clients. It doesn’t matter if you have 30 clients or 3,000 clients. And I’m constantly shocked that almost no therapists do this.

I think part of the problem is that the idea of writing and producing an email newsletter is just too intimidating… and possibly expensive. Well, four years ago, one of the largest commercial email providers, MailChimp, released a free service that made the whole process super simple.

As you discover in my new book, TinyLetter Guide: Set up, design and send your first email newsletter in under an hour… for free!, it’s not much more complicated than writing an email in Gmail or in whatever email program you use. At the same time it takes care of all the unpleasant tasks like managing subscribers, keeping archives, tracking replies, creating signup forms. All that yucky stuff is mostly invisible to you, so you can focus on what’s important: Developing a relationship with your clients.

In this book I’ll take you through the process of setting up your own email newsletter. Just follow along and complete the tasks as I outline them. There are lots of pictures and illustrations so you can see exactly what needs to be done. You will:

  • Sign you up and configure your account
  • Create and customize your sign up form
  • Design your newsletter
  • Write the newsletter copy
  • Add five subscribers
  • And send your first newsletter

…all in about an hour!

And the email service is absolutely free!

Get the book on Amazon for just $2.99!
The price goes up next week.

Right now the book is only available in Kindle version, but you don’t need a Kindle reader. You can read the book on any device: Your computer, laptop, tablet or phone. I may release a print version later down the road.

Also available as a video course on SkillShare. Recommended for more visual learners. I’ll be putting up more video courses on this site. Subscribe and get access to all of them. Use this link and get two months for free!

Go to Amazon now to pick up your copy for just $2.99!

I’ll be doing some livecasting around the topic of email over the next couple of days and answering questions. Follow me on Facebook so you can get notifications of the broadcasts: https://www.facebook.com/ebrown1.

How much should I pay?

The BodyworkBiz Retirement package is only available for a few more days, so check it out and get it now. We’re both savvy enough to know that leaving it “til later” means “never” and you don’t want to miss out. And the pay what you can offer means there’s no excuse for not getting access to these awesome resources.

geteverythingnow

This is a “pay what you can” offer. That means you choose the price.

pwyc-bbizBut some people are uncomfortable with that and have been writing to ask me what they should pay. These resources are worth well over $2,000 and I’ve suggested you pay just $199. It’s less than a 1/10th of what they are really worth. That is incredible value and is pretty much within anyone’s reach.

If you are really struggling financially, then pay $99.

If you are absolutely destitute, enter $20 to $50.

If you are homeless or can’t even afford to buy groceries, you can get it for $0. I’ve gone hungry at points in my life because I couldn’t afford to buy groceries, so I understand.

I just ask you to be honest and pay what you can, not a low-ball price because you’re cheap. I’m doing this to help therapists who sincerely want to change their life circumstances, transform their business and touch more lives. I’m not doing this for tire kickers or curiosity seekers.

If you used this pricing structure for your own clients, you’d want them to be honest.

geteverythingnow

A little self-reflection…

This offer has been an interesting exercise because it makes me, and hopefully you, think about what has value in your life. Most therapists are willing to pay $700+ per year for their cable TV package (that’s the average cost), but therapist surveys show that most therapists spend less than that on marketing their practices each year. That means most therapists value entertainment and distraction more than building a solid client base and a firm financial future for themselves and their families. Is it no wonder that the average therapist makes under $20,000 per year?

How about you? Where do you put your resources? Where do you spend your time, energy and money? What’s really important to you?

Personally, I believe in investing in myself and my goals. I attended two events related to book publishing last year. They weren’t cheap and I debated whether to make the investment. Between travel and the cost of these two trainings, I probably invested about $10,000. But as a result, I was able to write, format, publish a book and get it to the number one best seller list on Amazon within a couple weeks. I feel confident that I can do that over and over again predictably and I will. Furthermore, I can charge $5,000 to $10,000 to help other aspiring authors do the same. Do you think I’d be able to do that after watching a few free videos and reading some free articles online? Of course, not. I made a real investment and got a real return on my investment.

The sad thing is that most therapists don’t recognize the value of investing in themselves and their businesses. As a result they struggle with frustration and financial uncertainty each day or end up working for minimum wage at a franchise or in jobs completely unrelated to massage.

If you are not successful in your practice it’s because you have not invested sufficiently. I urge you to invest in your business education. If you don’t like my approach there are others in the profession that are qualified to help you. For example Irene Diamond, Laura Allen and Felicia Brown are a few that come immediately to mind. They are all awesome humans, business consultants and educators who offer great business resources.

So I encourage you to do a little self-reflection this week. Think about how you invest your time, energy and money and whether those investments are being used in the best way possible to help you reach your life goals.

All the best,
Eric Brown

This is my motivation…

Here’s why I do what I do…

2014-12-14_9-17-28

BodyworkBiz had always been a passion project for me and not a primary source of income. I’ve dedicated 26 years of my life to helping clients and helping therapists.

Unfortunately, not every therapist has enjoyed the soul-satisfying feeling of reaching and touching the lives of thousands of people like I have.

Here’s one last chance to get all my know-how. You decided the price. You decide what life transformation is worth to you.

There is no excuse for not being successful in your practice. Take advantage of this offer before it’s gone forever: http://bodyworkbiz.com/closingsale

buyeverything

There’s no excuse for not getting this…

You can get absolutely everything and you choose the price.

You can get absolutely everything and you choose the price.

You can get every e-course, video, webinars, e-books, teaching kit, client education newsletter, etc. that has ever been produced at BodyworkBiz.

How much does it all cost?

You decide!

Just type in the price you can afford and it’s all yours – it’s well over two thousand dollars of practice building courses and resources!

Click here to get it all now at whatever price you choose

Why am I doing this when other people have already paid between $199 and $499 for this Retirement Package?

  1. My shopping cart service expires August 19th and I have no reason to renew it.
  2. This package will no longer be available to purchase after the shopping cart is gone and it’s a shame.
  3. Every massage therapist in the world should have access to these resources despite their financial situation.
  4. If every therapist utilized even some of the resources in the package they could likely double their business. Imagine the number of lives we could touch if that were the case.
  5. This removes all excuses you may have for not having a profitable and soul-satisfying practice.

Click here to get it all now at whatever price you can afford

This is a “pay what you can” offer, not a “take advantage of the situation” offer. I believe that you’ll be fair in entering the price. If you can afford $100 or $200, I trust that’s what you’ll pay for what amounts to over $2,000 in resources. If you are in dire financial curcumstances and can only afford $20 or $50, that’s fine too.

As a reference point, the average cost of cable TV in the USA is $64.61 per month or $772.92 per year. Even Netflix at $7.99 per month is $95.98 annually. If you can afford to pay that for entertainment, certainly it would be wise to invest more in your career and your future.

Please take action before this opportunity is gone and don’t keep it a secret. Click one of the share buttons on this page to let your colleagues know.

What would you do in this situation?

wouldyouhelpImagine that you are closing your massage office for good as you get ready to embark on a new career. You are finishing up paperwork in your clinic when someone knocks on your door desperately in need of help. They outline their issue and you know you can really help them. Do you say:

1) “Too bad! You should have seen me months ago!”

or

2) “Yes, let me set up my table and I’ll take care of you before I leave.”

Seriously, how would you respond?

This week I find myself in that situation and I chose response #2. Of course if I can help someone I will. Why wouldn’t I?

In my case, I have therapists knocking on my door asking for help:

  • “Can I get access to any of your courses? I am getting close to opening my own practice and don’t know where to start.”
  • “I just moved to Germany and have only one client so far.”
  • “I’ve gone from being single and financially stable my entire life to supporting my boyfriend (who is back in school) and his four year old son since they were completely flooded out of their apartment.”
  • “I didn’t have the money to make any purchases when you offered it before.”

If I can help them before I’m gone, why not? Wouldn’t you do the same?

I’m closing shop at BodyworkBiz, but I still have a responsibility to my existing customers. As much as I’m ready to move on, I’ve promised therapists that they will continue to have access to BodyworkBiz resources until June 30, 2016. That’s why my retirement from the profession has been a process and not an event. I’m not going to disappear and leave people hanging. I’m not that kind of person.

This month my shopping cart service that processes purchases on my site comes to the end of its subscription period. I’m not renewing it. This is the equivalent of locking the doors for good, but I want to help those therapists that need help as zero hour approaches. So I’m giving everyone a final chance to pick up the entire package of resources at BodyworkBiz before the purchase links are deactivated.

You can get pretty much every resource ever produced at BodyworkBiz: From client education newsletters and technique videos, to courses and teaching kits.

How much?

Whatever you are able to pay. You tell me what you can afford and that’s the price you pay. No questions asked.

I’m going to suggest $199, but you can pay $100, $50, $20 or even nothing if you are truly destitute. You decide.

Some detractors think I’m some kind of scammer for making this package available one last time, but I’m not here for their approval.

I’m here for every therapist who wants to extend their reach, every therapist who wants to touch more lives in their community and every therapist who wants to improve their lives and the lives of those closest to them.

And I know those people are extremely grateful. I’ve already got notes like:

  • “Bless you!!! I would have bought this long ago if money weren’t so tight.”
  • “I don’t know how to thank you enough!”
  • “Thank you. Hopefully I will be making money soon and I will gladly pay you more.”
  • “Too good to miss out on a second time around.”

There is not one therapist who cannot benefit from the invaluable information and resources archived on the site, whether you own a clinic, are a sole practitioner or are contracted by someone else.

Please take advantage of this opportunity. There are only a few days left.

“Are you in or out?”

I’ve said I’m retiring from the massage profession, but I keep emailing you. So people are asking me, “Are you in or out? Are you really leaving the profession or is this some kind of ploy?”

The truth is that I am leaving. But it’s like trying to say goodbye at a busy party so you can get out the door.

I have an obligation to all my BodyworkBiz peeps until the end of the year. I also need to do project management at World Massage Conference for the time being. (By the way, this is the last day to get the prelaunch special, so check it out now.) That’s why I’m still very visible.

What am I up to?I’ve always done consulting for all types of businesses from the largest cat litter manufacturer in North America to local restaurants and everything in between including comedians, consultants, educators, software developers, associations, universities and more. So I’ll continue that work, but will be gearing towards larger organizations.

I’m always looking at trends and how to capitalize on those. One strategy that has been under-utilized by professionals and businesses of all sorts is publishing. So I plan to help people write and publish books using a system that speeds up the process to weeks instead of years.

I wrote, published and got my “60 Clients in 60 Days” book to the Amazon bestseller status in just two weeks – start to finish. I did this to prove that my publishing system would work the way I envisioned it.

(It’s still available for 99 cents on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00V585K7E. Best deal ever!)

I’m also exploring the possibility of creating an online English video immersion program to help non-native speakers learn the language quickly. If you took part in my Productivity Challenge last year, you know that efficiency is important to me. Traditional academic language training programs are more or less useless. I think someone should be able to be proficient in a new language in months not years and that’s my motivation for exploring this project.

So over the past few months I’ve been consulting with ESL educators, school owners, script writers, and language experts to determine the feasibility of my idea. If I think I can actually make it happen, I will. It’s exciting because it has the potential to help hundreds of thousands of people wanting to learn or become more proficient in English. As part of my research I’ve actually gone back to school to be certified as an ESL teacher to really wrap my head around traditional approaches to English instruction and to get some in the trenches experience.

So that’s the scoop! That’s why I’m still hanging around massage people and why you continue to hear from me.

If you want to follow my activities, feel free to connect with me on social media. Click the “Follow” button on any of these:

Google+ (my preferred social network)
Facebook
Twitter

Now that my English training is over and I have some time on my hands, I’ll be writing a little more often and providing you with some more resources.

Take care,

Eric Brown

Here’s What’s Happened at BodyworkBiz (week of December 14th)

Thanks for the well wishes over these past two weeks. It’s been a month of reflection as my official career as a massage therapist ends December 31st. I’ve been posting on the blog regularly and I thought I’d just send you a list of recent posts so you can decide what you want to look at:

45372_463854011139_1599205_nThe BIG BodyworkBiz Retirement Sale – Time Sensitive

Of course, this is the big news: BodyworkBiz will be closing its doors as of December 31, 2014. I want to give all my loyal subscribers and customers a chance to get anything they’ve always wanted to get before it all goes away. Better yet, you can have pretty much everything that I’ve ever published for just $199. Yes, I mean everything: e-courses, videos, webinars, e-books, presentation kit, newsletters, etc. for just one payment of $199. You get everything you see on this page, which if bought individually would cost you over a couple thousand dollars.

2014-12-14_9-17-28A Plea to Help Your Fellow Therapists (or Yourself)…

I started BodyworkBiz as a “passion project” 15 years ago and never intended to make money with the site. After all, the browser had just come out five years earlier and I figured it would take another five years before any significant number of therapists started using the Internet. Take a look at this Facebook post that was made last week in one of the big massage groups (it’s shocking and sad, but not unexpected) and you’ll discover the reason why I started BodyworkBiz in the first place.

praise2How Do You Respond to Praise?

This has been an interesting month as I’ve announced the closing of BodyworkBiz. I have a following of detractors, but I also have a following of people who appreciate the work I do. And many of the later have been contacting me or posting here in the blog or Facebook thanking me for my contributions to their practice and the profession. It feels a little uncomfortable for me and not just because the sentiments sound a little like a eulogy. (I’m not quite dead yet.) But I think this raises some questions in terms of how you respond when your clients thank you. Tell me what you think…

294724_f260Why I’m Really Quitting Massage…

I’m giving up my massage license and closing BodyworkBiz. It’s not a marketing ploy. It’s actually happening. Lots of rumors are circulating and I’m getting calls from old friends wondering if I’m dying or have just lost my mind. Here are my reasons for getting out of massage stated as simply as I know how. Check out the video of my son at the bottom of the post. I’m always surprised and amazed when he does that.

2014-12-04_15-24-14Product Tours

Most therapists have had no idea as to the range of resources that have been available at BodyworkBiz over the years. So you know what you are getting when you purchase the Retirement Sale package, I’m doing short tours of some of the resources. I’ll produce a few more of these before the end of the month.

2014-12-17_15-21-45Repurposing (or How to Make One Thing Do Many Things)

People consume information in a thousand different ways. Now instead of simply publishing a print ad you need address the multitude of ways that people access information and find your business. For the small business owner, it’s hellish, but here’s one approach you can use to make the job easier.

Repurposing (or How to Make One Thing Do Many Things)

2014-12-17_20-59-38

In the old days (like ten years ago), marketing used to be so much simpler. The ways of getting your marketing message out to people in your community was limited. With the advent of high speed internet access all of that has changed.

People consume information in a thousand different ways. Now instead of simply putting something out in print, you need address the multitude of ways that people access information and find your business.

There are hundreds of various media channels that compete for attention and everyone has their favorite. Some people look for info in search engines, some like to read blogs for info, some like image based sites, some are always on social media, some like watching videos, etc.

It’s simply hellish as a small business owner to reach people through the huge number of sites that people may or may not be on.

One solution to decrease your workload and increase your reach is to  simply repurpose content you create. Here’s how I did it…

I want as many people as possible to get their hands on the resources at BodyworkBiz before I close down the shopping cart for good. So I wrote a blog post let people know why I was shutting down and to encourage them to purchase the low cost retirement package I’ve put together.

2014-12-17_18-08-46

The blog is text based and great for people that still like to read. It also has the possibility of getting picked up in search engines for people who are looking for that information there. But it would be a shame to just stop there.

But what about the visual consumers?

I figured, why not simply create a slide deck that summarizes my blog post. I can repurpose that information in a more visual way. So I created this slide deck using a service called Haiku Deck. It’s super fast and I can use their images for free.

I can embed that in my blog, post a link in social media or export it as a SlideShare Deck.

I can even save individual slides and post them to Pinterest or other image sharing sites.

What about the people that like video?

I can simply use a screen capture software to record my slides and voice for an even more engaging message and I can post that on video sharing sites like YouTube.

Now I have three (or more) pieces of content that I can upload to my various social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, etc.) So instead of just doing one post to each of these social sites, I can do three posts to each staggering them over time so everyone is alerted.

Note that you can also do it the other way. If you’re not a writer, then make a video and post it. Then take screen shots of the video to create a slide deck and transcribe the audio to create a blog post. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Not Your Average Client Education Newsletters…

The Client Education Newsletters sell for $19 each on the BodyworkBiz site ($228 total), but they are included at no extra cost in the incredible package of courses and resources you’ll get as part of the BodyworkBiz retirement sale.

Check out everything you get in this package here:

http://bodyworkbiz.com/closingsale

I’m closing up shop by the end of the month, so you only have days to take action on this.

Everybody agrees: Education is key in developing your massage practice and growing the profession. And nothing is more effective than these small, but mighty handouts.

Watch the video above to get a tour of this great resource. At the two minute mark you’ll see me create a full customized newsletter in about a minute.

But here’s something that not enough people know about: You have “private label rights” to the contents of these newsletters. (Watch at about the four minute mark in the video to learn more.) What this means is that you can use any of the content and claim it as being yours. That opens up a world of options for this material…

You can use the newsletter content for

  • articles,
  • blog posts,
  • email newsletters,
  • educational handouts
  • and more

You could approach your local community newspaper for example and offer to do an article on any of the newsletter topics. They are always on the lookout for well written content. Just send them the text and the illustrations from any newsletter for the article. Include your “byline” with your name and contact information that gets published with the article. Voila! You’ve got instant credibility. More than just free visibility, you are highlighted in a way that establishes you as an expert in the profession and the go to massage guy or girl in your community.

You can also use the content in a cut and paste way for your email newsletters or for your blog posts. In the video, you’ll see how I create a blog post for my website in less than a minute by simply copying content and uploading the included images.

Yes, the images are included. There are dozens of images that I commissioned medical illustrator, Beverly Ransom, to create. You’ve probably seem some of her illustrations in the textbooks you’ve used in massage school.
